The Fair Work Commission has announced an increase to the national minimum wage and award wages, effective from 1 July 2025.
If you employ staff, now is the time to review your payroll to make sure your team is paid correctly under the updated rates.
What You Need to Know:
- Minimum wage rates will increase from 1 July 2025
- Award rates will also be updated – this applies to most industries
- Employers are legally required to implement the changes from the first full pay period on or after 1 July
- Penalties can apply for underpayments, even if accidental
What You Should Do:
Review your employees’ current pay rates
Check the new award rates from Fair Work (or we can help you do this)
Update your payroll system in time for the first July pay run
Make sure allowances, loadings, and overtime are also reviewed
